Russia’s Cosmetics Imports from South Korea Surge by 21% in First Seven Months of 2026

In January through July 2026, Russia recorded a 21% increase in imports of cosmetics from South Korea compared to the same period in 2025. According to data from the Korean statistical service, the total value of these imports reached $254.1 million.

Care cosmetics imports rose by 25% to $244.6 million during this period, while decorative cosmetics declined by 33% to $9.7 million.

In July alone, South Korea supplied Russia with cosmetics worth $41.6 million. This figure represented a 15% decrease from the previous month but an 11% increase over July 2025. The primary category was care cosmetics at $39.6 million. Lip makeup products accounted for $1.5 million, eye makeup products — $398,000, powder — $134,000, and manicure products — $29,000.

By the end of July, Russia and Hong Kong had dropped out of the top five importers of Korean cosmetics, with the United Kingdom ($67.7 million) and the Netherlands ($48.3 million) now ranking above them. The leading importers remain the United States ($239.4 million), China ($136.7 million), and Japan ($73.6 million).
