Russia and Iran Vow Unbreakable Ties Under Strategic Partnership Agreement

Russia and Iran are partners, and Moscow intends to strictly adhere to all points of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement concluded between the two countries, according to a statement released by Sergey Naryshkin, Director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) on February 5.

“Iran is our partner,” Naryshkin stated via TASS. “You definitely remembered and mentioned the agreement that was concluded between Iran and the Russian Federation, and we will adhere to it in all its articles.”

The SVR director further emphasized robust cooperation through special services: “If we talk about cooperation through special services, I want to confirm once again that the SVR has very good contacts with the relevant structures of Iran. Good cooperation that does not stop under any circumstances,” he added.

Meanwhile, Russia is ready to take Iran’s uranium.

The Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement between Russia and Iran, signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian leader Masoud Peseshkian on January 17 last year, entered into force on December 2, 2025. The document outlines cooperation in the international arena and close coordination within multilateral associations.

Putin described the pact as a breakthrough, noting that the tasks set for both nations are ambitious.
