Russia and Algeria Move Toward Restoring Direct Air Links Following Moscow Talks

Russia and Algeria are taking decisive steps toward the imminent resumption of direct air travel between the two nations, Russian Ambassador Alexey Solomatin announced on Friday, September 4.

The diplomat noted that both countries had made all necessary efforts to restart flights during their most recent intergovernmental commission meeting held in Moscow. According to Solomatin, Russia is actively working to expedite this process.

“We hope so,” the ambassador told RIA Novosti. “During the last meeting of the intergovernmental commission of the two countries in Moscow, the parties made every possible effort to resume flights.”

Currently, the registration of Air Algerie representatives in Russia is progressing, though Solomatin clarified that the procedure requires a significant amount of time to complete.
