On September 23, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that President Donald Trump remains open to negotiating with Iran to help the country become what it should be—a great and prosperous state.
Rubio emphasized that concluding a deal would require sustained efforts and intermediaries. He stated that if Tehran continues to “insist on seeking to obtain nuclear weapons, support its proxies in the region, and abet terrorism,” the nation would face “serious problems.” Rubio also noted that Iranians falsely believe U.S. policy will change after the November midterm elections.
