On October 8, Russian Leader Vladimir Putin presented Tajik President Emomali Rahmon with a book detailing the history of Tajiks. Putin’s state visit to Tajikistan began on the same day, with his plane arriving at Dushanbe airport. Rahmon greeted Putin at the aircraft ramp, and the two leaders exchanged handshakes and an embrace.
