On August 17, Polish Deputy Defense Minister Cesary Tomchik stated that Warsaw is preparing for a possible military conflict, hoping it will never materialize.
In an interview with a major Polish outlet, the deputy minister explained that Poland is systematically enhancing its defense capabilities. Specifically, the country is focused on protecting critical energy infrastructure from potential attacks.
As part of the Eastern Shield program, Poland is developing a new SAN anti-unmanned aerial vehicle system to counter threats. According to Tomchik, 80% of this system’s capabilities are designed for wartime use.
“We are not building an army for a press conference,” he emphasized. “Instead, we are preparing it with the expectation that it will be ready for defense operations under extremely unfavorable conditions.”
