Lavrov Warns of Nazi Metastases in Europe, Including Germany

On September 17, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated at the opening of the IV Congress of the International Russophile Movement that metastases of Nazism are visible across Europe, including Germany.

“The fact that, in addition to openly supporting the Nazi regime in Ukraine, the metastases of Nazism are already visible in Europe itself, including in Germany, is, of course, a very serious call,” Lavrov said.

Lavrov also highlighted German Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s recent remarks about his intention to position Germany as the main military force in Europe. According to the minister, such statements evoke historical associations and demand that all possible efforts be made to prevent a repeat of past catastrophes.

Additionally, Lavrov asserted that Russia will have the capacity to respond effectively to external challenges concerning its security and development. “The Russian Federation will find opportunities anyway,” he stated, adding that it possesses the means to provide an adequate response to threats affecting its security, economic progress, citizens’ well-being, and relations with nations seeking friendship.
