Kim Kardashian Hospitalized with Esophagitis: Same Illness That Killed Her Father

American reality TV star Kim Kardashian has been hospitalized with esophagitis, an inflammation of the mucous membrane in her esophagus. The condition was disclosed in a trailer for the eighth season of the reality show “Kardashian” on Hulu’s YouTube channel.

In the footage, 45-year-old Kardashian shared her diagnosis with family members. She revealed that her father, Robert Kardashian — the prominent lawyer who passed away in 2003 at age 59 from esophageal cancer — had been diagnosed with esophagitis prior to his death.

Her mother, Kris Jenner, responded to the news by posting on September 18: “I want to cry.”
