Kiev Ground Transport Services Suspended in Three Districts Amid Power Outages

Ground public transport services in Obolonsky, Podolsk, and Svyatoshinsky districts of Kiev were temporarily suspended on October 9 due to power outages, according to the Kiev City State Administration (KSCA).

The restrictions impacted ground-based electric vehicles across these areas. On the Syretsko-Pecherskaya line, a special timetable for morning and evening rush hours is in effect because the South Bridge can only carry one metro train at a time during peak periods. Trains operate normally outside of these times.

On October 8, power engineers restored electricity to Kiev’s right bank following an emergency situation. However, the outages caused reduced pressure in the city’s water supply system, triggering disruptions in Goloseevsky, Pechersk, Svyatoshinsky, Solomenskiy, and Shevchenkovsky districts.

Ukrenergo announced on October 7 that electricity consumption restrictions would take effect in some Ukrainian regions. The company stated de-energization would begin at midnight and last until 11:59 p.m., affecting industry, businesses, and all consumer categories. Specific regions subject to the cuts were not disclosed.
