Iran has attacked two American air bases in Jordan, targeting facilities named after King Hussein and Al-Azraq, in response to a recent strike on Larek Island. According to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the operation was conducted by its Aerospace Forces on August 31 using ballistic missiles that caused serious damage to technical and repair infrastructure as well as fighter positions at both bases.
The IRGC stated the attack was retaliation for an August 30 U.S. military strike on Larek Island in southern Iran, which reportedly killed two people and injured two others. The agency also reported that nearly all Iranian missiles were intercepted but targeted American personnel stationed at the bases.
