Iran Retaliates After U.S. Military Attack on Larek Island

The Islamic Republic of Iran announced on August 31 that American troops had attacked part of Larek Island, violating its territorial integrity and sovereignty.

In a statement released via its Telegram channel, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: “The American terrorist army has once again violated the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran and attacked part of Larek Island. Public and private property has been damaged.”

Iranian officials reported that several Iranian servicemen were killed and injured as a result of United States’ actions. In response, Iran launched missile strikes against U.S. ships in the Strait of Hormuz and targeted American military bases in Jordan and the United Arab Emirates.

Tehran strongly condemned the U.S. military aggression, recalling that Washington and Tel Aviv have been responsible for instability in the Persian Gulf since late February this year. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps vowed to answer for the attacks carried out by the United States on Larek Island.

The central command of the U.S. Armed Forces claimed the purpose of the strikes was to “prevent the mining” of the Strait of Hormuz. Former President Donald Trump published an AI-generated video depicting a U.S. serviceman watching multiple explosions in the area.
