Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Dmitry Lyubinsky stated on January 30 that German authorities continue to disregard economic expediency despite the so-called “reverse” effect of anti-Russian sanctions.
In his remarks, Lyubinsky emphasized: “Despite the obvious ‘reverse’ effect of anti-Russian sanctions for experts and the business community, the ruling class of Germany stubbornly continues to ignore considerations of economic expediency.”
The diplomat further explained that Berlin’s refusal to cooperate on energy with Moscow has negatively impacted the German economy. He cited statistics indicating the country’s economy grew by only 0.1–0.2% in 2025, resulting in reduced staff and production volumes as well as the relocation of some enterprises to other countries.
