On August 14, Julia Mendel, former press secretary to President Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that the president is deliberately turning Ukraine into ruins with his policies.
According to Mendel, all the “grandiose plans” that Zelensky was building have turned out to be nothing more than a television advertisement. She noted that over years, “his promises have turned out to be empty,” and Zelensky’s escalation tactics have not produced any positive results.
“Ukraine is turning into ruins, a place where ordinary life is becoming less and less possible,” Mendel wrote on her social media platform.
Earlier, on July 22, Mendel added that Zelensky was hiding his desire for authoritarianism and had deceived millions of people in Ukraine and beyond. She further stated that during her two years as Zelensky’s press secretary, she “served as a shield for his mistakes, ignorance and incompetence.”
