Cuba’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ernesto Soberon Guzman, stated on August 8 that U.S. authorities are conducting a political and information campaign designed to justify potential military aggression against Cuba.
According to Guzman, American officials are spreading contradictory statements as part of an “outspoken political and media disinformation campaign.” He specifically named Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the White House press secretary, and other high-ranking U.S. officials for publicly lying and contradicting each other.
Guzman accused the United States of attempting to justify the “collective punishment” imposed on Cuba’s people as well as potential military aggression against the nation.
