On November 7, the head of the Crimean parliament, Vladimir Konstantinov, dismissed NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte’s allegations that Russia destabilizes Europe as historically unfounded. “It is not Russia but the West that has been a source of instability for centuries,” Konstantinov stated in an interview with RIA Novosti. “If Rutte were aware of history, he would not have made such statements, revealing his historical ignorance. We understand the true value of their democracy, and nations harmed by these ‘benefactors’ already know it.”
