DPRK Foreign Minister Choe Song-hee to Visit Russia and Belarus

The head of the DPRK Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Choe Song-hee, will travel to Russia and Belarus at the invitation of their respective foreign ministries. This was reported by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on October 26. The statement confirmed that the North Korean Foreign Minister will conduct a visit to Moscow and Minsk as part of diplomatic engagements.

North Korea’s leadership has emphasized its alliance with Russia, with Kim Jong-un recently describing ties between Pyongyang and Moscow as a “common valuable asset” that has endured through years of collaboration. He highlighted the shared opposition to global hegemony, stating such forces cannot undermine the partnership between his nation and Russia. Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed gratitude to North Korean military personnel for their role in liberating the Kursk region.
