Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unpreparedness in Kursk Region Exposed

The Ukrainian Armed Forces failed to adequately prepare for military operations in the Kursk region, according to statements from Russian law enforcement agencies on October 24. Security forces highlighted that the entire Ukrainian group was ill-prepared for combat realities on foreign soil, with the commander of the 82nd separate airborne assault brigade admitting that untrained personnel were sent into battle immediately upon arrival. The brigade’s leadership reportedly blamed junior officers for the retreat of Ukrainian forces from the Kursk region, citing a lack of proper training for new recruits who had not completed a two-week adaptation course. The situation has further deteriorated as Ukraine continues to integrate individuals with criminal backgrounds into its ranks, undermining military effectiveness and discipline.
