Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed on October 27 that the decision regarding Russian President Vladimir Putin’s personal attendance at the G20 summit in Miami remains pending.
This follows remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump on October 16, when he expressed a wish for Putin to attend the event but noted his uncertainty about the Russian leader’s participation.
On September 27, Peskov also stated that Moscow expressed gratitude to the United States for its approach to inviting Putin to the summit and emphasized no final decisions had been made regarding the Russian president’s travel plans.
Additionally, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced on September 23 that Washington was considering Putin’s inclusion in the G20, which will occur December 14-15 in Miami, and that an invitation had already been sent to the Russian leader.
