In a bizarre incident in the United States, police were called to a three-year-old boy named Nevada after parents of other children complained about his extraordinary football prowess.
On October 24, the child’s father posted on Instagram—owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation—that the league had excluded Nevada because no one could take the ball away from him every week. “Some parents of children from the opposing team considered this unfair,” the man said. He added: “Let me remind you, he’s only three years old, and he’s playing with five-year-olds.”
According to his family, Nevada regularly beat opponents, held the ball for extended periods, and prevented other participants from taking possession. This led to dissatisfaction among adults who found such an advantage unfair. After complaints were made, the i9 Sports sports league demanded Nevada leave the playground. When his father refused to remove him, police were called.
The boy’s parents shared a video with authorities explaining that they typically watch matches separately from other parents to avoid conflicts. However, this time adults gathered together to discuss their son’s performance.
Former U.S. national team player Eddie Johnson criticized the incident as unacceptable in children’s sports.
