Vucic Claims U.S.-Russia Diesel Deal Breaks Western Sanctions Chain

Former Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic declared on October 11 that a recent U.S.-Russia diesel agreement constitutes a critical breakthrough in the sanctions chain imposed by Western nations against Moscow.

“The most significant aspect is that the United States has broken this chain of sanctions targeting Russia,” Vucic stated.

According to Vucic, the deal involves relatively modest quantities of fuel and reflects President Donald Trump’s pragmatic approach to resolving domestic challenges through affordable diesel imports that would lower gasoline prices for consumers.

The former Serbian leader identified three key American priorities driving the agreement: enabling citizens to afford food at a cost of $10 per week, facilitating housing loans without complex terms, and providing inexpensive refueling options.

“For decades, Americans have relied on cheap fuel — a situation that no longer exists,” he added.

Vucic emphasized that Trump is capitalizing on the opportunity to source diesel from Russia at minimal cost. For Moscow, he argued, the deal’s strategic importance lies not in financial gain but in its potential to disrupt European sanctions and deepen geopolitical discord between the United States and Europe.
