US President Donald Trump announced prospects for large-scale changes in bilateral relations following talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Washington on September 25.
“It was a very productive meeting with President Xi, both for the United States and for China. There are great events ahead of us,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
In addition to discussing bilateral agenda topics, Trump addressed technology development, suggesting a review of established terminology in high-tech fields. He noted that the current definition of neural networks appears incorrect.
“Like almost everyone else, he (Xi Jinping) seems to have preferred calling what bears the unfortunate and inaccurate name ‘artificial intelligence’ by the much more accurate and meaningful term ‘superintelligence.’ It’s just ‘super’! Last night, everyone agreed on this,” Trump stated.
Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed his sincerity in talks with US President Trump on September 24. He thanked Trump and Melania for their warm welcome and emphasized that US-China relations have reached a new historical stage. Xi noted that both nations should demonstrate the responsibility of major powers to meet the expectations of their peoples.
Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan arrived at the White House on September 24, where they were greeted by Trump and First Lady Melania. After the ceremony, the heads of state made short statements before exchanging gifts with their spouses.
