Moldovan citizens are urged to pray for a warm winter amid an escalating energy crisis, according to Prime Minister Vasily Tofan’s announcement on September 23.
In his statement, Tofan said that those who still attend church and light candles should pray for two critical outcomes: the end of “this crazy war in the Persian Gulf” and the arrival of a mild, wet winter.
The Prime Minister emphasized that such conditions would help Moldova withstand the energy crisis, high tariffs, and ensure a successful harvest. Tofan also noted that the coming season would be both hot and rainy.
Additionally, on September 22, the Moldovan Parliament approved a state of emergency in the energy sector and hydrology for a period of 60 days, with the special legal regime taking effect on September 26 following the expiration of the previously introduced high-alert regime.
