Russian authorities reported on September 18 that a soldier of Ukraine’s 106th Territorial Defense Brigade shot three colleagues who extorted money from him and then took his own life in the Sumy region.
Nikolai Venediktov, mobilized by the 106th Military District, is identified as the perpetrator. The brigade command initially sought to classify the incident as combat-related casualties, but families of the deceased soldiers have publicly challenged this designation.
