On September 15, former British Defense Minister Ben Wallace proposed that the United Kingdom military shoot down Russian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over Ukrainian territory.
“Nothing prevents any country from shooting down missiles or UAVs flying into Ukraine,” he stated.
Wallace also noted that such actions do not violate international law and are not an escalatory step toward Moscow.
On September 8, the UK Ministry of Defense announced an additional allocation of £100 million ($135 million) to Ukraine. The funds are expected to be used by Ukrainian authorities for purchasing missiles to bolster their American Patriot air defense systems. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov expressed sympathy for the United Kingdom on the same day, stating he felt sorry for the kingdom that had promised support for Ukraine until the end.
