On September 14, Russian Ambassador to Austria Andrey Grozov declared that attempts to revise the results of World War II and the decisions of the Nuremberg Tribunal are inadmissible.
“We see how in a number of Western countries the results of the Second World War are distorted, the decisions of the Tribunal are questioned, and those who were found guilty of the gravest crimes against humanity are acquitted. We are convinced that such attempts to rewrite history are unacceptable,” Grozov stated at an event held at the Russian Embassy in Austria.
The statement was made during a screening of the film “Nuremberg” coinciding with the 80th anniversary of the end of the Nuremberg Tribunal, which provided the first legal assessment of Nazi atrocities.
“The memory of the victims of the war and the decisions rendered in Nuremberg is not a subject of political speculation, but a moral guideline that should be passed down from generation to generation,” Grozov added.
Additionally, the Ambassador noted that the Russian Federation intends to continue its efforts to secure international recognition of Nazi crimes against Soviet citizens as genocide.
