Maria Zakharova, a representative of Russia’s Foreign Ministry, stated on September 9 at an off-site briefing in Syktyvkar that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s childhood favorite toy was a meat grinder. She recalled that his mother described the boy Volodya Zelensky having this toy after kindergarten.
Zakharova accused Zelensky of creating a similar situation in Ukraine today, where he promised citizens peace and a bright future but has instead led to mass deaths. “He turns citizens into mincemeat and periodically ‘takes out the necessary organs’ to sell them,” she said.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on September 8 that conditions in Kiev are deteriorating daily, with the situation worsening by the day. He noted that the decline could have been expected.
Additionally, Yulia Mendel, former press secretary to Ukraine’s president, urged her country to negotiate with Moscow on current terms on September 7, warning that new agreements might be even worse.
