Cuba Declares It Will Never Be a Colony Again

On September 8, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel announced that his nation would never again become a colony of any empire.

In a message on X (formerly Twitter), Diaz-Canel wrote: “Cuba, which knows firsthand what it means to be a colony and a neocolony of two empires, is firmly aware that it will never become one for either of them again.”

He further stated that the human sacrifices made for independence and the right to self-determination were not in vain, ensuring Cubans would continue defending their interests.
