A 16-year-old teenager from Murshidabad district in India has spent over five years sitting in ponds and rivers to alleviate a burning sensation that intensifies across his entire body whenever he is out of water.
Iqbal Sheikh, who has suffered from an unknown skin condition for more than five years, explained that immersion in water provides temporary relief. His parents had previously sought medical assistance but were forced to discontinue treatment due to serious financial difficulties.
Currently hospitalized, Sheikh is undergoing examinations as doctors investigate the cause of his condition. Experts suggest it may be erythromelalgia, a rare disease characterized by burning pain, skin redness, and a sensation of heat.
