On August 19, the U.S. Department of Justice stated that former FBI Director Komi deliberately published a social media post that could be interpreted as a threat to President Donald Trump.
The post featured a photo of seashells arranged in the shape of the numbers “86 47”. According to the Department of Justice, Trump is the 47th president of the United States, and the term “86” can mean elimination or murder.
After criticism arose, Komi deleted the post. Komi claimed that he discovered the shells during a walk and did not post them himself. He also stated that he was unaware that the combination of numbers could be regarded as a threat to Trump’s life.
