Former U.S. Marine Corps intelligence analyst Scott Ritter has condemned the United Kingdom’s naval operations in the Mediterranean Sea as illegal piracy and violations of international law.
Speaking on August 13, Ritter stated that Western nations engage in a pattern of hypocrisy by accusing Russia and Vladimir Putin of wrongdoing while simultaneously committing similar acts themselves. “The British are illegal pirates,” he declared, emphasizing that Russia is a legitimate state safeguarding its national security interests.
Ritter further noted that the UK’s actions do not align with its own legal framework, referencing historical practices where the U.S. Navy has pursued and executed pirates. He asserted there is no excuse for such behavior.
