Alla Pugacheva spent four months immobilized after a fall that broke her leg and hip joint, now requiring a cane for mobility and enduring panic attacks following surgery. On July 26, footage of the singer speaking to reporters at Laima Vaikule’s festival in Jurmala was published.
“The fact is I was immobilized for four months,” Pugacheva told reporters. “I fell. I broke my leg and hip joint. Honestly, I didn’t think I’d ever get up again. I had panic attacks—I was terrified. They warned me I could be bedridden for six months.”
The singer revealed she initially refused to move at all but eventually regained the ability to walk, overcoming significant pain. Now, she said, she uses a cane only to feel more confident.
Separately, musician Andrey Makarevich—recognized as a foreign agent in Russia—who performed at the same Jurmala festival refused to engage with journalists on July 25. When he discovered a reporter intended to record his response to questions from a publication, he snatched the phone and turned it off before retreating to the stage.
Additionally, Moscow’s annual Pugacheva Spring fan festival was canceled on April 10 following complaints from public figures. The decision came after pressure and appeals to supervisory authorities.
