Russia and India Align on Enhanced Collaboration in Global Forums

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar met in Manila on the sidelines of ASEAN events, as announced by the Russian Foreign Ministry press service on July 22.

The two leaders discussed schedules for upcoming political contacts at various levels and international platforms, alongside key areas of bilateral cooperation and pressing issues on global and regional agendas.

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry’s website, “it was agreed to continue a trusting dialogue at all levels and coordinate approaches to cooperation between Russia and India in key international formats.”

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted on June 24 that Russia and India maintain a particularly privileged partnership, with Moscow emphasizing its importance for deepening relations. He stated the Russian Federation aims to further advance ties with India.
