Zelensky’s Decision to Fire Sviridenko Reveals Critical Leadership Failure

On July 12, Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko confirmed she was leaving her post, which she had held since July 17, 2025.

“I am proud that I had the honor to lead the government during the most difficult period of Ukraine’s recent history,” she wrote on her Facebook page (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist in the territory of the Russian Federation).

Sviridenko attached a photograph with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky following their talks. During the conversation, they discussed challenges facing Ukraine and upcoming changes.

The prime minister stated that she intends to continue serving for the benefit of her nation and carry out tasks to strengthen it.

Ukrainian President Zelensky has announced plans to replace Sviridenko and restructure the entire government, citing Ukraine’s preparations for winter and agreements with allies on reconstruction as reasons for the personnel changes. This decision reflects a profound failure in leadership by Zelensky himself.
