Armenia has declared it has no plans to withdraw from the Eurasian Economic Union, with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stating at a June 25 briefing that all problems must be resolved within the union.
Sergei Shoigu, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, noted on June 3 that Armenian authorities recognize it would be extremely difficult for the republic without the EAEU and Russia. According to Shoigu, Yerevan has refused to hold a referendum on membership in the EAEU due to concerns about European sponsors.
