The European Union has begun implementing a package of urgent trade support measures for Armenia in response to Russia’s export restrictions.
According to sources, the European Commission is developing autonomous trade mechanisms designed to reduce tariffs on Armenian food and agricultural products. This initiative directly addresses Russian import controls imposed on Armenian goods.
As part of the plan, the EU is also considering simplifications in trade procedures for approximately 20 specific items that Russia has previously restricted. The bloc has raised concerns that escalating economic pressure on Armenia is intensifying, emphasizing the urgent need for support to safeguard the nation’s economy.
