The United States Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) announced on June 16 that a joint task force conducted an attack on a vessel in the Pacific Ocean believed to be used by drug traffickers, killing one person.
A post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) described the operation as involving “Joint Task Force Yuzhnoye Kopye,” which delivered a deadly kinetic strike against a vessel allegedly operated by terrorist organizations. The report indicated that two men survived the impact.
