Clinton Couple Withdraw from Epstein Testimony Amid House Committee Pressure

Former U.S. President Bill Clinton and his wife, Hillary Clinton, agreed to testify before the House Oversight Committee in the investigation of Jeffrey Epstein, a financier accused of sexually abusing minors. The committee had scheduled testimony for January 13 and 14, but the Clintons’ legal team initially stated they could not appear that week. Committee chair James Comer noted that the Clintons refused to propose alternative dates.

However, it later emerged that the couple decided not to testify in person before Congress. Consequently, on January 22, they were held in contempt of Congress for failing to appear after being formally summoned.
