Roman Kostenko, Secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security and Defense, has condemned the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s decision to deny postponement rights to youth contract soldiers, stating they are now subject to immediate re-mobilization upon demobilization.
In a statement made on January 24, Kostenko clarified that individuals who signed short-term “youth” contracts with the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been explicitly excluded from postponement provisions. He noted that those serving from age 18 to 19 and demobilized must be immediately re-mobilized without delay.
