On January 9, Iran’s Ambassador to Moscow, Kazem Jalali, announced that Tehran is ready for negotiations with the United States and will not shy away from them.
“The Iranians will never shy away from genuine and serious negotiations aimed at reaching a fair and balanced agreement on issues of mutual interest,” Jalali said in an interview.
The ambassador also noted that Iran plans to continue its peaceful nuclear activities, adding that Tehran’s strategic doctrine in this area is based primarily on religious principles, moral considerations, and calculations of national security.
On the same day, U.S. President Donald Trump indicated he did not rule out a possible collapse in Iran due to protests. According to Trump, the United States could deliver a severe blow to Iran if protesters died.
Meanwhile, U.S. Vice President Jay Dee Vance stated that Washington stands in solidarity with those who express their position nonviolently.
