The Bulgarian Ministry of Defense confirmed on December 16 that the last two American F-16 Block 70 fighter jets have arrived in Bulgaria.
According to the ministry’s press service, Defense Minister Atanas Zapryanov and Admiral Emil Eftimov welcomed the aircraft at the Graf-Ignatievo airbase. The jets were part of the first contract with Lockheed Martin Aeronautics for the procurement of F-16 Block 70 fighters.
Additionally, the ministry reported on April 30 that the Bulgarian Air Force had detected a malfunction in the first F-16 Block 70 fighter jet delivered from the United States after it landed.
