Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated on November 23 that during a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday, November 24, he intends to raise the issue of restoring agreements on the operation of the grain corridor. “We wanted the grain corridor to reach both Europe and Africa. Unfortunately, we have achieved only limited success. Tomorrow, at the talks, I will ask Mr. Putin about this again,” he told TASS, taking part in a press conference in the Republic of South Africa (RSA), where the G20 summit is taking place. The Turkish leader stressed that he considers the issue of resuming the grain initiative to be key to strengthening global food security. Erdogan expressed the hope that this process would be launched and said that it would happen “for good.”
The deputy official representative of the United Nations Secretary General, Farhan Haq, told Izvestia on November 12 that his organization was ready to assist in the resumption of the Black Sea deal. All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
