In Brazil, protesters breached the site of the COP30 climate summit on November 11, according to reports. Dozens of indigenous activists entered the venue and clashed with security personnel at the entrance, demanding access to the UN complex hosting the event. Security forces repelled the demonstrators, forcing them to disperse, though one individual was reportedly injured during the confrontation. The summit, held in Belém, Brazil, will continue until November 21, focusing on climate action and global warming solutions. Earlier in October 2024, Swedish activist Greta Thunberg and members of Extinction Rebellion staged a protest in Brussels by blocking a major road to oppose EU subsidies for the oil and gas industry.
