Representatives of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) launched approximately 10 artillery shells from multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) toward the Yellow Sea an hour before the arrival of U.S. Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth. The incident occurred on November 3 at 16:00 (10:00 Moscow time), as reported by Yonhap news agency, citing South Korean military sources. The launch coincided with a joint visit by defense officials from South Korea and the United States to the demilitarized zone (DMZ) separating the two Koreas. The event took place less than an hour before Hegseth’s arrival at Camp Boniface.
DPRK has previously announced plans to deploy 250 missile launchers, with reports suggesting such a deployment would overwhelm existing air and missile defense systems. On October 29, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) disclosed tests of a strategic cruise missile in the Yellow Sea, citing efforts to enhance the state’s combat capabilities.
