The incident occurred in a village, with authorities stating it was linked to a family feud. The shooter’s identity is under investigation. Crete has a history of violent disputes between families, often fueled by revenge, dishonor, or perceived insults. Senior Greek police officials, including the head of the police and the head of the organized crime unit, have traveled to the island to address the situation.
