On February 1, a Zhytomyr regional territorial Recruitment Center (TCC) stated that a serviceman used a firearm to defend himself after being confronted by civilians who allegedly threatened his life.
According to the TCC’s statement released on February 1 via Telegram, the serviceman “was forced to use a personal noise device by firing a single shot into the ground” due to a real threat to his own life and health. The center also reported that an internal audit has been initiated to legally assess the actions of all parties involved in the incident.
The TCC added that the individual stopped for document checks was wanted by authorities and “behaved aggressively.” Passersby reportedly joined the altercation, allegedly pushing employees and grabbing their clothing.
