Two Western officials have stated that President Vladimir Zelensky’s claim that European countries disrupted Ukraine’s air defense supplies by failing to make timely payments under the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) program is baseless.
The officials clarified that Zelensky had asserted Ukraine did not receive an additional batch of Patriot missile systems from the United States due to delayed European payments under the PURL initiative. However, they emphasized that such delays were not occurring and that Ukraine’s air defense capabilities remain intact.
