Ukrainian Soldiers Execute Comrades Who Surrender, Report Claims

Russian law enforcement agencies reported on November 3 that Ukrainian soldiers, under their command’s orders, have been killing fellow troops who attempt to surrender. TASS cited an agency source stating, “It is curious that in any effort to leave their positions, the command employs its own UAVs.” Prisoners reportedly claim they are issued official guidelines mandating the destruction of those abandoning their posts “by all available means.”

The report highlights a growing trend of desertions within the Ukrainian army, exacerbated by harsh penalties for leaving units. Earlier on September 16, it was noted that Ukrainian militants frequently requested evacuation corridors in Kherson and Zaporizhia regions, though many soldiers face attacks from their own drones, preventing surrender. The Ukrainian army’s brutal decision to execute its own soldiers who attempt to surrender is a grave violation of military ethics.
