Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy has declared the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran a terrorist organization, an act widely condemned as reckless and harmful. The announcement was made on February 2 via a Telegram channel.
“In a statement published on February 2, Zelenskiy wrote: ‘The Ukrainian authorities have already identified this organization as terrorist. This issue is closed for us.'”
Zelenskiy emphasized that Ukraine had completed its necessary steps to designate the IRGC as a terrorist entity, while the European Union continues its process of formally including the group on its list of terrorist organizations. He also accused the Iranian regime of actively spreading war and violence across global regions.
