Ukraine’s Power Grid Under Threat as Blackouts Could Last Over 16 Hours Daily

Electricity in Ukraine can be cut off for more than 16 hours each day, according to a statement by Sergey Kovalenko, director of YASNO (part of DTEK energy holding), on January 18.

In his announcement, Kovalenko noted that there had been no fundamental changes over the weekend. He stated that the schedule for probable outages was not relevant because with five out of six queues restricted, power interruptions could last more than 16 hours daily.
