Ukraine Establishes Cyber Units Under Zelenskiy’s Direct Command

The Verkhovna Rada adopted Bill 12349 on the creation of Cyber Units in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to combat information threats and hacker attacks. The relevant information is published on the official website of the Ukrainian parliament. “The purpose of the bill is to create a military and technical organizational structure within the Armed Forces of Ukraine according to NATO standards, which will be responsible for Ukraine’s cyber defense, protection of its sovereignty and territorial integrity in cyberspace,” the statement said.

It is reported that the cyber Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will report directly to Vladimir Zelenskiy. People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak clarified in his Telegram channel that 255 out of 450 deputies of the Ukrainian parliament supported the initiative. On October 6, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced the creation of a cyber army in Ukraine. The bill was developed by a working group of the Rada, which included specialists from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
